Understanding Product Warranty
Warranty and returns policy
Please contact Elite Hockey directly for authorization prior to returning any potentially faulty goods. Brands have strict but fair guidelines in relation to warranty claims on products.
Legally Elite Hockey is bound not to commit a supplier to a warranty claim unless it has been prior inspected and authorized for replacement by that company. Warranty may vary between full and partial claim depending on the nature of the fault and age of the item.
Companies reserve the right to repair, replace or credit the products under a warranty claim. Warranties cover manufacturing faults within 30 days of purchase. Please ensure you keep your receipt or warranty form with the date of purchase from Elite Hockey for warranty eligibility.
Please note that warranty does not cover wear and tear resulting from playing the game, misuse or abuse, chipping, and /or cosmetic changes that do not affect the playing functionality of the product.
Stick Warranty Information
Warranting of a hockey stick is often difficult to assess due to the nature of the game. Stick warranties apply to workmanship problems of de-lamination and faults in the blade of the stick, splice or handle. Manufactures will only replace sticks that are clearly faulty from a manufacturing problem and have failed in early usage. Generally problems occur in the first few uses. Vibrations that may occur in the stick are often a result of a dislodged handle cap or loose materials inside the hollow shaft which may not hinder the performance of the stick. Caring for your stick to avoid possible cosmetic damage may include using a clear shaft guard or fiberglass tape to lower the risk of cosmetic damage which is not covered in warranty claims.
Hockey Shoe Information
Damage to shoes is often a result of water damage. It is essential that shoes be dried properly in a cool dry place after use. Using heaters or hairdryers to try your shoes will cause damage to the glue. Leaving shoes in a wet and damp place like the inside of your hockey bag will also result in faster deterioration.
A product warranty plays a crucial role in consumer protection and satisfaction. It acts as a guarantee provided by the manufacturer, indicating that the product will perform as advertised. If any defect arises within a specified period, the manufacturer will repair, replace, or provide a refund. Having a clear understanding of product warranties can help you make informed purchasing decisions.
There are various types of product warranties available, including limited, extended, and lifetime warranties. Each offers different levels of protection and coverage. A limited warranty typically covers specific parts or defects for a certain period, while an extended warranty prolongs coverage beyond the standard period frequently at an additional cost. Lifetime warranties, on the other hand, often cover the product for the duration of its usable life, but these terms can vary significantly between brands and products.
When evaluating a product warranty, it’s essential to read the terms and conditions closely. Look for details on what is covered and what is not, the process for filing a claim, and any necessary documentation. Some warranties may require you to register the product, whereas others might necessitate regular maintenance as a condition for coverage. Being aware of these factors can save you from unexpected expenses and ensure that your product is well-protected.
Product warranties also benefit manufacturers because they help build trust with consumers. A robust warranty often signifies that a company stands behind its products, reflecting its confidence in product quality and reliability. However, always be cautious of exclusions and limitations. Understanding these can prevent confusion and disappointment if you ever need to utilize the warranty.
In addition to the basic warranty, some manufacturers offer optional extended warranties also known as service contracts. These extensions usually entail an additional purchase and provide extra coverage for an extended period. Before purchasing an extended warranty, consider the product's value, potential repair costs, and the likelihood of the product failing. Sometimes, the cost of an extended warranty may exceed the benefits, so weigh your options carefully.
